Make your first task

Updated 18 May 2026

The whole point of Tyto is that the first thing you do shouldn't feel like setup.

Steps

  1. Hit "Add task" in the sidebar. The quick-add form slides in.
  2. Type what needs doing. Just the title — "Send the spring brief to Sarah."
  3. Tap the buttons for the fields that matter. The form reads as a sentence: For [assignee] in [project] starting [date] lasting [duration] priority [icon]. Click any of those pills, pick a value, move on.
  4. Submit. The task lands in My Tasks.

The first task you make is yours. No one else sees it yet — you haven't put it on a project. We'll get there in step 3 of this track. For now, treat My Tasks as your private inbox.

A note on dates

The date picker is the one place you can type plain English. Type "tomorrow", "next monday", "every friday", or a time like "3pm" — the picker understands those and applies the right pattern. Everywhere else, click to pick.
