Tasks on the go

Updated 18 May 2026

The phone is your capture device. It's also where you do most of your task editing once the laptop's closed. The pain-points below are the ones the phone is genuinely better at than the web.

"Right widget, wrong size, no service."

Parts counter, holding what you're now sure is the wrong widget. Your scribbled note from this morning is illegible. The Wi-Fi here is hostile.

Open the task on the phone, scroll to attachments — there's the photo you took of the broken bit when you assessed the car. Compare. Get the right size. Walk out before lunch.

Forgot to photograph it? Next time, while you're standing next to the car, hit + → quick-add → camera. The photo lands on the task before you've put the phone down.

"Three weeks later, where's that photo of the damaged panel?"

The insurer wants the photo. You took it. You think. You've taken six hundred photos since.

Photos taken from inside Tyto live on the task, not in your Photos app. Open the job, Attachments, there it is. They survive your team handing the job off to each other, and they survive your phone getting wiped.

"It's 3pm and today is already gone."

The morning ran over. You're not finishing three of today's tasks. You don't want to open the editor four times to push the dates.

Long-press the task in My Tasks, drag to tomorrow. Repeat. Or select several, hit bulk-edit, reschedule the lot in one sweep. Thumb work, no editor, eight seconds.

Bulk-edit can also reassign, move-folder, change status, and change priority across the selection — useful when a job lands on five tasks at once.

"Halfway across the car park you remember the priority."

You typed the task fast and now you remember it's actually urgent. Don't want to open the laptop for one field.

The task editor on the phone is the full editor. Title, description with @mentions, status, assignee, project, start/due dates, duration, priority (urgency × importance), followers, attachments, comments with reactions, subtasks, workflow transitions. Whatever you'd change on the web, you can change here.

"I need to attach this file from my email."

Quick-add and the task editor both pick from camera, photos, and files — the iOS / Android share sheet works too. From an email or a browser, hit Share → Tyto → it adds the file to a task with the title prefilled.
