Privacy and GDPR

The summary: we store the data you put into Tyto, plus the metadata needed to run the service. We don't sell anything, we don't profile you for advertising, and we honour deletion requests.
What we store
- Workspace data — projects, tasks, comments, attachments, workflows. The substance of your work.
- Account profile — email, name, optional avatar. Tied to your Tyto user record.
- Usage metadata — last-active times, login history, push tokens. Used to keep the service working.
- Audit log entries — significant admin actions, retained 12 months.
- Aggregate analytics — anonymous page views and click counts on the marketing site, no per-user tracking.
What we don't store
- Browser history outside Tyto
- Email content unless you explicitly cc Tyto on a thread (see Tyto by email)
- Passwords (Clerk handles auth; we never see your password)
- Card details (Stripe handles billing; we get the last 4 digits and that's it)
- Third-party cookies, advertising IDs, or cross-site trackers
GDPR rights
If you're in the EU (or you'd just like to exercise the same rights regardless of geography), you have the right to:
- Access — get a copy of your data (see Exporting your data)
- Rectify — fix anything wrong in your account settings
- Delete — close your account; we delete your personal data within 30 days, with backups expiring within another 30
- Object — opt out of any processing that's not strictly necessary to run the service
- Portability — export and take your data elsewhere
Deleting your account
Go to /actions/request-account-deletion. You confirm the email, we send a code, you confirm again. Once confirmed, your data goes through the 30-day deletion process and is gone for good.
If you're an owner of a workspace, you'll need to either transfer ownership first or delete the workspace before deleting your personal account.
Data residency
US-based by default (AWS us-east-1). Enterprise customers with EU residency requirements should talk to us — we can move workspaces to AWS eu-west-1 as a paid option.
